Weekly roundup of UX postings

From UXMatters, Mike Hughes writes about Instructional Text in the User Interface. UXMatters can be a little uneven, I’ve found, but this is a pretty good article, especially since we’re building increasingly complex web apps. It’s time to bring back the instructional help in context!

At UIGarden.net, Kathy Sierra takes a stab at trying to sort out development models and where the UX work fits into them, in What Comes After Usability? Also available in Chinese, which helps.

Garr Reynolds’ blog, Presentation Zen, features local favorite, Ira Glass, as he gives us a few tips on storytelling. Telling a better story in our decks is something we could all benefit by, and Garr’s site is one of the best ones I follow on that topic.

David Malouf talks about designing RIAs in smarter ways. I particularly like how he mentions Predictive Content Management, which, now he mentions it, might be a good way to use Bayesian techniques if we know what the likelihood of going to a certain step given a prior step.
