Consulting Story #763

I have a car. Actually I drove from Chicago, which took 4 1/2 hours. It’s about the same if I took a plane and it got delayed, which my flights have been doing a lot lately. It’s also the same if you fly in and get a car, because then you gotta drive to town from the airport. Yes, it really is 4 1/2 hours, because you need to be there at least an hour or so in advance, the plane may be delayed an hour, the plane trip takes an hour, getting in and out of the airports is another half-hour, and it’s about an hour before you get settled at home, not counting the car. So in the end, I don’t think I crapped out at all, I don’t have to put up with parking, or renting a car, or going through homeland security, I get to see three states, and then, there’s also the mileage, which is 250.5 miles.

Anyway, there’s a supermarket a mile down the road. This is a college town. There’s not really a huge need to start the day with crazy calories or a bigass carboblast or end the day with crazy meals. No more crazy meals. Fewer meals out of bags and styro boxes. So I bought some groceries, mostly fresh fruit, and that’s how we’ll ride out a few days. We’re on the warpath to eat healthier and treat ourselves better. Why didn’t I do this sooner. I’m a freaking genius.

Let’s see how long this lasts.

I think this is the rationale behind the new mini charter jets for business travelers. So much security red tape is making flying a hassle.

So do the crashes on these charter jets. What are the odds, right? Well. Everytime you get into a vehicle you take your life into your own hands, so. Either way.
