I like how his obsession with reviewing things from chain stores and restaurants turns into yet another delightful bit of neurosis for the reading public. I'm less enthused about some of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orson_Scott_Card" target="_new" rel="nofollow">his other written opinions</a>, but, ain't that America, home of the free? Little pink houses for you and me. I’m acquainted (not personally) with OSC. Apropos of nothing, but do you know who Orson Scott Card is? He wrote <i>Ender's Game</i>? Anyway, he has a semi-regular <a href="http://www.hatrack.com/osc/reviews/everything/index.shtml" rel="nofollow">column</a> on his site where he reviews, in his words, everything. He can be a bit (a lot) preachy (he's religious and has this thing about Hollywood and unnecessary adult content), but he also has this rant about supermarkets that reminds me of your user thing. Basically, he doesn't understand why chains cannot tailor their buying to the local populace needs instead of taking a national average.
